CV Writing

Creating a strong CV is often the first step toward landing a job or opportunity. But for many people, it can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re starting out or switching paths. Your CV should tell a story not just of your jobs or grades, but of your skills, growth, and what you bring to the table. It doesn’t need to be flashy. It needs to be honest, relevant, and tailored.

Tips for a Great CV:

Focus on your strengths and transferable skills, especially if you don’t have much experience.

Use action verbs and highlight real outcomes or results.

Keep it concise, no more than 2 A4 sides.

Tailor your CV for each role: read the job description and reflect their language back.

Add a short profile at the top, a few lines on who you are, what you do, and what you’re looking for.

Include achievements from work, school, volunteering, or side projects.

Interview Prep

Interviews can be nerve-wracking, but preparation can ease the pressure and help you feel confident. Good interviews are about more than giving the “right” answers, they’re about showing who you are, how you think, and how you handle challenges. We are offering a one-off free 30-minute interview prep video call via Zoom that is designed to get you comfortable with your own story, practice common questions, and walk into the room (or Teams) with clarity and confidence.

Tips for Interview Success:

Do your research: learn about the company’s mission, values, and the role.

Prepare a few questions to ask the interviewer, it shows interest and initiative.

Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to give structured, focused answers.

Record or rehearse your responses and hearing yourself helps fine-tune your delivery.

Think of 3–5 examples that show your strengths, teamwork, or problem-solving.

Don’t memorise a script, aim to sound prepared but natural.

Breathe, pause when needed, and remember: the interview is also for you to learn if the role suits you.

Personal Development Plans (PDPs)

A Personal Development Plan is your blueprint for growth. It helps you track where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there. It’s useful whether you’re just starting out or looking to level up. A PDP makes your learning and growth intentional. Instead of drifting from one task to another, it helps you make decisions based on goals and reflection.

Tips for Creating Your PDP:

Define your goals across 2–3 areas: career, skills, confidence, education, etc.

Break each goal down into smaller actions with deadlines.

Identify any resources or support you’ll need (a course, mentor, or book).

Track your progress monthly and adjust where needed.

Reflect regularly: What’s going well? What’s getting in the way?

Keep your plan visible either on your phone, wall, or journal.

Use it as a check-in tool, not a pressure point. Progress matters more than perfection.

Goal Trackers

Goal tracking is about staying focused, organised, and encouraged along your journey. It’s easy to set goals, but hard to stick with them especially when life gets busy. A good tracker turns vague intentions into small wins.

Our printable and digital goal trackers are designed to help you stay on track while leaving room for flexibility and reflection. They’re simple, motivating, and made for real life. Download button mustard.

Tips for Effective Goal Tracking:

Write your long-term goals, then break them into monthly and weekly tasks.

Use daily habits to support your goals like journaling, outreach, or learning.

Track progress in a visible place: a spreadsheet, app, or on your wall.

Celebrate milestones, even small ones every step counts.

If you miss a day or week, don’t start over just keep going.

Review your tracker weekly to spot patterns and adjust your plan.

Share your goals with a friend or mentor for added accountability.
